The Mtn Mama Story

The Mtn Mama Story

Mtn Mama, LLC began humbly in 2017, born in my kitchen as a single mother crafting body butters, sugar scrubs, and personal care products. I knew from the start that my products needed to stand out, and that’s when I decided to add CBD. At the time, Montana was largely unfamiliar with CBD—what it was, and more importantly, what it wasn’t. I quickly realized that education would be the cornerstone of my business.

In 2018, I launched CBD School, teaching monthly classes to curious locals. Each class ended with the chance to purchase products, and word spread fast as attendees shared their experiences with friends and family. From there, the company took off. I was invited onto the state’s largest radio show for monthly Q&A sessions, opened a shop in the mall, and in 2020, just two weeks before the Covid shutdown, I proudly opened our headquarters in Columbus, MT, where we manage production, shipping, and retail.

Then the world changed. I had barely opened my doors when the pandemic hit, but closing was not an option. I discovered that making hand sanitizer could keep my shop open, so I pivoted, working with a local liquor store to source Everclear when supplies ran low. Over the next few months, I produced more than 80 gallons of hand sanitizer, donating it to first responders, schools, and restaurants. Every day, I managed the store alone—filling online orders, staying active on social media, and keeping our brand alive. When the mall kiosk closed after the pandemic, we consolidated all operations at our Columbus headquarters.

But our mission has always been more than just business—it’s about community. In 2022, when a devastating 500-year flood hit our county, I organized volunteers to check on families along the rivers, collected donations, packed lunches, and held an event at a local church where residents could meet with government officials, FEMA, and disaster relief organizations. In 2024, when 700 mine employees were laid off, affecting over half the families in our community, we offered free memberships to those impacted, giving them 30% off all products through our Good Karma Club (up from the standard 20%).

Along the way, we’ve also helped nearly a dozen entrepreneurs launch their own CBD brands—manufacturing products, creating branding, building websites, and shipping orders. It’s been a joy to watch these new businesses grow.

At the heart of Mtn Mama is my passion for connection. Our mission is "to cultivate happier, healthier people and pets through the production and sale of quality CBD products"—but it runs much deeper than that. I’ve been blessed to be a vessel of love in this journey, helping people manage stress, anxiety, and pain (challenges I understand personally) and giving pets a higher quality of life. This work has become my purpose, and I am grateful every day for the lives we’ve touched and the community we continue to serve.
